That's a long time to wait for another installment. But I'd rather go slow and get enjoyable movies than pump out trash. Lots of other stuff to watch in the meanwhile.

Who’s here after GxK gives Kong a happy ending

My hopes is it’s a solo Godzilla film, the last 2 films had Kong in the main character role, let’s give the ape a break. Also the monsterverse is less a MCu but an old school version of a cinematic universe. Just a series of films following the G with only 1 spin off film. Compared to having several different films following different characters where the thread connecting them was just that they were all connected.

Immensely exciting and welcomed news, can't wait to see what this new director will bring to the table as far as the overall story in the Monsterverse and Godzilla himself is concerned. Though it may seem difficult, hopefully the director can build a compelling story around Godzilla and give him rich and meaningful character development while still keeping his designation as a force of nature, intact. I hope for a stand alone movie for Godzilla. They have to focus again (and seriously) about the lore and put against one singular enemy. A truly menace this time... No kidding, no toy-monsters, stupid colours and cringe comic lines... No Kong or him "son". No Shimo please... Pick Biollante, Space Godzilla, Mecha King Ghidorah or Gigan. If they need a cameo, so go for Gamera...

Sadly, not buying the snacks is what Really Kills the Theater, because that is where the theater makes the most money. The Studios take the largest cut of the actual ticket price. And as a Fellow "Single/No Kids" person. I agree with Omni. I can vividly recall My Dad telling me We ain't Getting No Snacks! Money is a precious commodity. Which is why I only got to the few movies I want to see. If I can.

I would prefer Legendary to do a solo Kaiju film and give Godzilla a break in the meantime. They can use this opportunity to either do Mothra, Rodan or a solo King Ghidorah film and that’s something we have never seen before!

Now far be it from me to defend Patrick's video about plot-holes, considering he himself has voiced some level of regret towards it in recent years. But given the current climate of reviewing and analyzing entertainment online, I can't help but feel like his video has some slivers of truth in it. Hell, maybe he was onto something when he said that people are "watching movies wrong"; especially given how shallow, overblown and bad faith some people can be with their takes on entertainment. I'm just saying, for all the people who were dogging on Patrick's takes, maybe a little bit of self-reflection could be beneficial.

I just hope to Buddha that this next movie won't be ANOTHER team up movie. I'm ready for another Goji-centered movie. I liked GvK and GxK, but can we PLEASE focus on Godzilla??

Lets hope we get another good Japanese movie while we wait. More good G films are always welcome.

I'm so glad that they're not rushing it. They're definitely trying to not repeat the mistakes that Marvel made. One movie every two to three years is good.

Personally I would like this film to be a solo film for Godzilla, i'm not into the idea that every film from here on out is a team up movie because along the line its going to loose its appeal. I wanna see what the new director will bring to the MV because personally I was not that a big fan of Wingard's direction.
